Welcome to the Nin Chronicles Monthly Newsletter!

Dear << First Name >>

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey of words! I am delighted to see you here and look forward to sharing personal updates, calls for submissions, publication news, and behind-the-scenes peeks at my writing process! If you have not already grabbed your Poetry Edit Checklist, do it here. As it is versatile, I am hopeful you will use the checklist to edit more than your poems.

These newsletters seek to go out around the beginning of each month to give you the widest window possible in which to write your poem, short story, or guest posts.

I cannot promise not to get carried away and send out a couple extra newsletters, but I can promise that I will share only relevant, interesting, and helpful information.

If you are an editor, blogger, or creative seeking submissions to your literary journal, blog, or personal space, please feel free to reply to this email with your submission guidelines and a link to your website. I will be happy to consider sharing your creative space in my next newsletter.

If you do not offer guest post slots on your creative site or run a literary magazine/journal but you know of someone who does, consider forwarding this email to them or hit reply and send me their site address so I can reach out to them! Thank you.

A Little More About What You Can Expect To See Here Monthly

  • A shortish directory with links to anthologies, journals, magazines, blogs, and creative outlets currently open to submissions.
  • A round-up featuring, at minimum, 5 posts by fellow bloggers, writers, poets, and creatives I loved reading during the past four weeks.
  • A list of all my creative writing publications from the past four weeks that I did not write about on the blog, plus possible excerpts and writing thoughts.
  • Writing tips and updates on any projects I am currently undertaking.
  • Polls asking you to vote for what how-to/writing guides you would like to read next on the blog.
  • Downloadable checklists and creative freebies!

Thank you so much for joining me! Suggestions on how I can improve and make this the best space possible for you all are gladly welcomed. Ideas for future additions are also invited; simply reply to this email!

Also consider forwarding or sharing this to any of your literary-inclined or editor friends!

~May the words flow

Book Review: Waking up to Thrutopia by Conny Borgelioen I am delighted to share a book review of Waking up to Thrutopia by Conny Borgelioen, a beautiful poetry and essay collection that, divided into three connected parts, chronicles the author’s struggle with a chronic illness and puts to words what it feels like to “elucidate the healing process and “ask hard questions as [the author’s] tender rebellion against the status quo begins to take shape.” Full Review 166 South Mountain Lane,...

Book Review: Whistler of Petty Crimes by Eileen Ike West I recently had the pleasure of reading Eileen Ike West’s debut poetry collection, Whistler of Petty Crimes, and am delighted to share a book review of this transportive poetic narrative. The poems in this book are not short as each one imparts a story that plays into the narrative of the author’s life from childhood to adulthood. The poetic landscapes are rich with emotion and imagery and the writing alive with a sense of lives lived....
