Spring 2022: March Blog Highlights + The Future of Nin Chronicles

Published about 2 years ago • 1 min read

Dear Reader,

Welcome to Spring 2022! It is interesting to see how the year is beginning as we put the first Quarter behind us and venture forth into the unknown. Tumultuous events always give us opportunity to examine our personal morals, goals, and inner narratives; the answers and decisions we come up with in response make for perfect poetic exploration and offer us writers further emotional experience with which to enrich our characters with.

Blogging Tip for March

Here is a little bonus tip to help ya make the best of your blog newsletter!

Please, PLEASE include links to the relevant posts you mention in the body of your writing. Many of us may have missed the posts and few of us will search your archives to find said post. A link is easy to insert and makes it so simple to read the content in question.

Latest from the Blog!

March has been a lovely month for me in terms of writing. I am forever redefining my writing style and poetic nature. This month's poems have been among the finest I have written.

‘Subject’ Published at Delta Poetry Review! This publication is especially dear to me as Delta Poetry Review focuses on writing that captures the spirit of the American South: my birth-land.

8 Practical Ideas on How to Effectively Develop a Writing Schedule: Here is the first writing guide of the month, written by the faceted Eri over at Weird Lifestyle! I am delighted by this post and open to its many suggestions.

Sensitivity Training: a piece of prose that addresses sensitivity training.

Fragility Cycle: explore the aching passion of being a writer!

This Time Last Year!

The Emerging Poet’s Guide To Finding Amazing Literary Magazines + list: I'll be reworking this piece in the future, but for now it is still as helpful as ever!

Trending: poetic thoughts on the timely nature of what is forever trending.

Tragedy: an emotional haiku.

Vampire At Dawn: a juxtaposition I am proud of.

A Question for You

I am forever thinking about new ways for me to address the growing and evolving needs of the writing community (yes, that includes bloggers!) by writing interesting content. This includes gift guides, how to's, and roundups. As writers, poets, and bloggers, are you interested in reading gift guides for writers aimed across a variety of holidays and topics? Here is a sample of the ideas I am considering.

Holiday (Gift Guides)

  • Easter
  • Mother's Day
  • Father's Day

Lists (sample ideas!)

  • 12 Best Affordable Cotten Robes for Writers
  • What to Wear to a Writing Conference

I would love it if you hit reply and let me know which topics you would be most interested in and what you would like to see on the lists!

May the words flow,

~Jaya.

Book Review: Waking up to Thrutopia by Conny Borgelioen I am delighted to share a book review of Waking up to Thrutopia by Conny Borgelioen, a beautiful poetry and essay collection that, divided into three connected parts, chronicles the author’s struggle with a chronic illness and puts to words what it feels like to “elucidate the healing process and “ask hard questions as [the author’s] tender rebellion against the status quo begins to take shape.” Full Review 166 South Mountain Lane,...

Book Review: Whistler of Petty Crimes by Eileen Ike West I recently had the pleasure of reading Eileen Ike West’s debut poetry collection, Whistler of Petty Crimes, and am delighted to share a book review of this transportive poetic narrative. The poems in this book are not short as each one imparts a story that plays into the narrative of the author’s life from childhood to adulthood. The poetic landscapes are rich with emotion and imagery and the writing alive with a sense of lives lived....
